Fall league shooting is upon us. If you are an avid shooter then your shotgun is always getting a workout, if not, you may be shooting a shotgun that could use a little TLC to be reliable.
Whether you shoot 2000 shells or 200 shells, regular maintenance is necessary! Clean bores, lubricated action and slides, tuned and polished gas ports, are just scratching the surface of what needs to be done regularly. Don't over look anything! Some leagues are forgiving of malfunctions but most will penalize you for a malfunction. You'd be surprised how easy it is to insure a problem free day at the range!
Regular field stripping is usually pretty easy to do at the range to just clean and lube but don't forget to do a complete strip once in a while to check for worn parts and to make sure all is in working order. If you don't feel comfortable performing such functions, it's okay. Just make sure it gets done by a knowledgeable person, service goes a long way! BTW.... I know a guy!!! Lol!!
Good luck and shoot straight!
